This page details the level of detail you can expect to find on CDs sold by USHistorcialArchive. The particular map is a random map and may not be an actual map on the particular CD you are purchasing. However, the level of detail as shown will be on all the maps on your CD.
Also, the MrSID program allows you to print your maps in any size you desire from postcard size to full size (if you have access to a printer that can print large format images as many of these maps are over three feet in size.) It also allows you to select and print just portions of maps so you can print out interesting details.
Each image on the CD is a super high resolution scan of the original map and software that is included in the CD lets you view the map in any degree of detail you want - anything from postcard sized all the way to wall sized - complete with features to allow you to manipulate the map in a wide variety of ways - even printing out the entire map or just a portion of it to your printer in any size you want.
Here is an example of the level of enlargement that is possible with this special viewing program. It clearly shows how it goes from postcard sized to incredible detail.
