Photochrom Images Volume 1 of 3
1669 Gorgeous Images

We offer a collection of 1669 beautiful photochroms from the 1890's to the early 1900's. These beautiful images display architechture, scenic views, stunning nature views, towns, ships, peoples and much more from Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Each image is an absolutely stunning work of art that you are sure to enjoy for years to come.

The photochrom process was originally developed in Switzerland (and when the word was Americanized, it was renamed photochrome.) A photochrom is a color photographic lithograph produced from an original black and white negative. The final prints would be created by creating a variety of different color impressions from the use of multiple lithographic stones. This process "re-developed" the image into a stunning full color image that looks more like a painting than a photograph.

Below you will see several sample images that are on this disk. Just click on the image and you will see a larger image so you can view the incredible details available on all these images. (Note: These images are of a good enough quality that you can make full size color prints on your dot matrix printer. For best results, use glossy paper.)

Clicking on an image below will show a large version of that image in a separate browser window.
